The 2020 Yawuru PBC Annual General Meeting was concluded on Thursday 19th November.
We thank everyone who joined us for the event and to everyone who cast their vote for the nominees for the role of Director on the PBC Board. We had record attendance numbers this year! Special thank you to all NBY staff who were involved in organising the event and Mabu Mayi Cafe staff for the delicious catering.
CONGRATULATIONS to our three new PBC Directors, Dean Mathews, Jasmyn Cook and David Puertollano, and to Law Bosses Thomas Unda Edgar as Law Boss Director and Jason Richardson to replace Law Boss Director Francis Bellou who has stepped down from his directorship role.
The meeting gave an overview of current events and projects, achievements and outcomes across the year. The auditors presented a clean report which was accepted by the community. Susan Bergersen presented her CEO report as well as informing attendees of upcoming projects which are part of the implementation of the Yawuru investment and equity strategy to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation. She also presented information on the finalisation of proposed structural changes to ensure NBY can adapt to organisational change and growth and increase its viability for long term prosperity.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the community shared a meal in the garden atmosphere and enjoyed entertainment from singers Natalie Dean, Maree Edgar, Martha Lee and Anita Dean and dancers Anjo Phillips.
